How To Lift
A Home

Cantsink’s patented helical piles do not require demolition or major disturbance to the surrounding landscape. In most cases, installation is fast and can even be accomplished in standing water. Cantsink helical piles have even been used in severe storm recovery with outstanding results.

Step 1

  • The homeowner removes their personal belongings, although not necessarily the furniture.
  • The utilities are disconnected. Steel beams are run under the home.

Step 2

  • The home is jacked up and placed on cribbing, which is an interlaced wood structure.
  • The old foundation is removed and "helical" piles screwed into the ground.

Step 3

  • The new foundation is poured to a height based on where the house is located in the flood plain -- usually 10 feet or higher.
  • Metal hurricane strappings are bolted to the frame and the home lowered.

Step 4

  • Platforms and stairs are added. Utilities are reattached.
  • Foundation vents are added to the basement, although some homeowners opt to keep the underneath part of the house open with just the pilings.

Benefits of a
Helical Pile

Speed

We’re sure you’re familiar with the saying “time is money.” Here at Cantsink, we make our products incredibly easy to install. You can install a helical pile in a matter of minutes and then you are ready to continue with your lift. It will save you on time and money!

Accessibility

All you need is a bobcat or even a walk-behind machine that is able to access difficult areas or a machine with a drive head to auger in the helical piles. We use a handheld device for indoors. Our helical piles are made to work on any project you need regardless of the scope.

Safety

The way in which our helical piles are installed allows for the structure to remain safely secured, compared to other methods where you may have to go back to fix it later because you are just depending on the weight of the house and hoping you hit a soil/rock. This allows your team to not only save time but money as well, because your crew gets the job done right the first time.

Works Great in Expansive Soils

In areas with expansive soils including Texas, Florida, Louisiana, North and South Dakota and others, helical piles perform well because the smooth pile does not have friction for the soil to adhere to the pile. Helical piles will not move in wet or dry soils like a push pile.

Self Verifying

So that we do not have to go back and fix the structure at a later time. With our helical pile installation it is self verifying and measured by torque so you know when you have achieved a good pile.

Does Not Stress the Foundation

Structure and home elevation foundation stabilization can be achieved without lifting the foundation repeatedly. Push piles can stress the structure by going up and down, causing issues with the footing and structure.

50% More Strength

Our patented helix provides 50% more strength to the project.

Won’t Sink or Heave

There is minimal disruption to existing structure and landscape.

ICC-ES Approved

Our square shaft and pipe piles are all ICC-ES approved.

Smooth Pile Shaft and No Friction

The soils can adhere to the pile so it will not move in wet or dry soils
